PUBLISHING PROCESS

Publishing Process for Journal Views

The publishing process at Views follows a systematic and transparent procedure designed to ensure the quality, integrity, and timeliness of the research published in the journal. Below, we outline the key stages of the publishing process, from manuscript submission to final publication.

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Initial Submission: Authors must submit their manuscripts through the Views online submission system. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format, with all relevant files, including figures and tables, attached separately. Ensure that all components of the manuscript (title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, etc.) are correctly formatted.

  • Author Agreement: During the submission process, authors will be required to agree to the journal's policies and publication ethics, including the original authorship declaration, conflict of interest disclosure, and ethical approval statement (if applicable).

  • Submission Confirmation: After submission, authors will receive an automated confirmation email indicating that the manuscript has been successfully submitted to the journal.

2. Pre-Review Screening

  • Initial Check: The editorial team will perform an initial review to check for compliance with the journal's submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the guidelines or are incomplete will be returned to the authors for revisions before moving forward in the review process.

  • Plagiarism Check: The manuscript will undergo a plagiarism detection process to ensure the originality of the work. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism will be rejected, and authors will be informed of the decision.

  • Scope and Relevance: The editorial team will also assess whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and whether it addresses topics that are of interest to the readership of Views. If the manuscript is deemed outside the scope, it will be returned to the authors with appropriate feedback.

3. Peer Review Process

  • Double-Blind Peer Review: All manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for peer review. Views follows a double-blind review process, meaning that both the identities of the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous to each other. This ensures objectivity and fairness in the review process.

  • Reviewer Selection: The editorial team will select independent experts in the field relevant to the manuscript’s topic. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and ability to provide constructive feedback.

  • Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on a set of criteria, such as originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and relevance. Reviewers will provide detailed feedback and recommend one of the following outcomes:

    • Accept

    • Minor revisions

    • Major revisions

    • Reject

  • Reviewer Recommendations: After reviewing the manuscript, reviewers submit their recommendations to the editor. The editor will make the final decision based on the reviewers’ feedback.

4. Editor’s Decision

  • Decision Notification: The editor will notify the corresponding author of the peer review decision, including the feedback provided by the reviewers. The possible decisions are:

    • Accept: The manuscript is accepted as it is or with minor revisions.

    • Minor Revisions: The manuscript is acceptable but requires minor changes. The author will be given a deadline to submit a revised version.

    • Major Revisions: The manuscript requires significant changes. The author will need to revise the manuscript and resubmit it for further review.

    • Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in Views based on the reviewer feedback.

  • Revision and Resubmission: If revisions are requested, the author must carefully address all comments from the reviewers and editor. The revised manuscript should be resubmitted with a detailed response letter explaining how each comment was addressed.

  • Final Decision: After the author submits the revised manuscript, the editor will make the final decision based on the revisions made. If the manuscript has been adequately revised, it will be accepted for publication. If not, the manuscript may be rejected.

5. Copyediting and Proofreading

  • Copyediting: Once the manuscript is accepted, it will undergo a thorough copyediting process to improve clarity, consistency, grammar, and adherence to the journal’s style guide (APA 7th edition). The copyeditor will also check for any formatting issues in the manuscript.

  • Proofreading: After the copyediting stage, the manuscript will be proofread for typographical and grammatical errors. Authors will be sent a proof of the article to review and approve. Authors are expected to return the proof within a specified timeframe, indicating any necessary corrections.

6. Final Approval

  • Author Approval: Authors will receive the final proof of their manuscript before it is published. At this stage, authors should carefully review the content for any final adjustments. Once they approve the proof, the manuscript will be scheduled for publication.

  • Publication Fee: If applicable, authors will be asked to pay any publication fees (if the journal has such a policy). This fee typically covers the costs of peer review, copyediting, and the open-access publication of the article.

7. Publication

  • Online First: Once the manuscript is finalized and approved, it will be published online first. This means the article will be made available on the journal's website before it appears in a printed issue (if applicable). The article will be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for easy access and citation.

  • Issue Assignment: The article will be assigned to a specific issue of the journal based on the content and thematic fit. The article will appear in the appropriate issue once the issue is compiled and ready for publication.

  • Final Publication: The manuscript is officially published in the journal Views. Authors will receive an email notification when the article is available in the final version, and they will have access to a PDF of the article for their records.

8. Post-Publication

  • Citations and Dissemination: Authors are encouraged to share their published article widely through social media, academic networks, and other platforms to increase its visibility. Views also encourages authors to provide links to the article on their institutional repositories or personal websites.

  • Corrections and Retractions: If any errors are found after publication, the journal will publish corrections or updates as needed. In cases of serious ethical issues or misconduct, retractions may be issued.

9. Appeals Process

  • Appealing the Decision: Authors who disagree with the editor's decision may submit an appeal. Appeals should be submitted in writing, providing clear justifications for why the decision should be reconsidered. The editorial team will review the appeal and provide a response.
