Abstract
Child marriage is a phenomenon that still occurs in many parts of the world, especially in rural areas. Early marriage has a negative impact on children's health, education and economy, with 11.21% of women marrying before 18 years old and 1.25% marrying at 12-16 years old. In West Kalimantan, early marriage at the age of 12-16 years results in low education and aspirations for children, prompting the Sanggau District Parliament to emphasize the importance of schooling for Dayak tribes. This research aims to educate the community and students in the Sosok dormitory about the negative impact of child marriage and find effective solutions to reduce the number of early marriages. Thus, minimizing the negative impact of early marriage for children aged 12-16 years. This research uses a qualitative method through in-depth interviews with students, parents, and community leaders in the Sosok Student Dormitory as well as through data collection conducted through observation and documentation. So the results of this study show that, the impact of marriage of children aged 12-16 years causes various problems such as school dropouts, health problems, and sustainable poverty. Through the results of this study, it can also increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of delaying marriage until a more mature age, as well as promoting the importance of education for children's future.
Abstrak
Child marriage atau pernikahan dini adalah merupakan fenomena yang masih sering terjadi diberbagai belahan dunia secara khusus di wilayah pedalaman. Pernikahan dini berdampak negatif pada kesehatan, pendidikan, dan ekonomi anak, dengan 11,21% wanita menikah sebelum 18 tahun dan 1,25% menikah pada usia 12-16 tahun. Di Kalimantan Barat, pernikahan dini pada usia 12-16 tahun mengakibatkan rendahnya pendidikan dan cita-cita anak-anak, sehingga mendorong DPRD Kabupaten Sanggau untuk menekankan pentingnya sekolah bagi suku Dayak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat dan pelajar di asrama Sosok tentang dampak negatif pernikahan anak serta mencari solusi efektif untuk mengurangi angka pernikahan dini. Sehingga dapat, meminimalisir dampak negatif pernikahan dini bagi anak usia 12-16 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam dengan para pelajar orang tua, dan tokoh masyarakat di Asrama Pelajar Sosok serta melalui pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi. Sehingga hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, dampak pernikahan anak umur 12-16 tahun menyebabkan berbagai masalah seperti putus sekolah, gangguan kesehatan, dan kemiskinan berkelanjutan. Melalui hasil penelitian ini juga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pentingnya menunda pernikahan sampai usia yang lebih matang, serta mempromosikan pentingnya pendidikan bagi masa depan anak-anak.
